Eastern Townships wine tasting trip

On Labour day weekend we decided to take a wine tour (Route des vins) in Quebec's Eastern Townships which is about four-and-a-half hour drive away from Ottawa. I was amazed by the beauty of this region with its picturesque landscape, rustic wineries and full of character little villages.

There was one winery in particular that was worth the whole trip. It's the oldest winery in the region called « Domaine des CĂ´tes d'Ardoise » near historic village of Dunham.

Not only the wine was exquisite at this winery but the atmosphere was very engaging as well. The winery hosts an annual exhibition of sculptures « Nature Et Creation » that features many famous artists of the region. Each sculpture had its own unique style and features. There were ones made of metal, wood, glass, clay, pretty much any material you can think of.
Amazingly, the sculptures looked very organic against natural surroundings.

We will definately come back to Eastern Townships for more wine, scenery and relaxing atmosphere.
